The Schism of Katsorel: The Genesis of the Hybrids Following the Iron Sedition, a rebellion that saw the capital world of Katsorel Primus turn against Central Authority, a decree of "Industrial Disjunction" was imposed. To ensure that no local force could ever raise an autonomous army again, the manufacturing secrets of main battle tanks were fragmented and scattered across the system's celestial bodies. Katsorel Primus retained the hull forges, engine assembly lines, track links, and final assembly infrastructure. Meanwhile, the moon of Katsorel Secundus inherited the turret foundries, heavy cannon machining, targeting computers, and rotation mechanisms. For four centuries, this fragile balance was maintained by ceaseless convoys ferrying components to Primus for final vehicle completion. Then came the orc Invasion. By saturating orbital space and intercepting anything attempting to leave the atmosphere, the invaders established a total blockade between the worlds. Deprived of their shuttle links, local technocults were forced to commit the unthinkable: shattering sacred protocols to spawn "Hybrids of Necessity." While the moon of Secundus held the cannons, the main world of Primus was left with thousands of heavy hulls, blind and defenseless without their turrets and sponsons. The "Taurine Russ" was born from a radical act of survival engineering. To transform a main battle tank into a heavy infantry ram, the local technocults committed a structural violation: the massive engine block was displaced to the front of the vehicle, freeing up the central and rear space to house a full squad of soldiers. A reinforced troop compartment was welded onto the rear, giving the vehicle its aggressive silhouette. To compensate for the lack of a main cannon, twin autocannons were welded directly onto the track guards, while a Storm Bolter was mounted on hull for close-quarters defense. The architect behind the "Taurine Russ" met a fate far darker than his counterparts from the moon of Katsorel Secundus. Judged for the ultimate sin of displacing the machine's "Sacred Heart" (the engine), he was denied any pardon. He was condemned to Ritual Lobotomy and transformed into a Servitor. In a final stroke of bureaucratic irony, while the man was erased, his designs were seized by the Central Authority. They are currently being "purified" to potentially become an official pattern for future heavy transport vehicles.
